A Great Start to the Year of the Fire Horse!
Four wonderful and very unexpected things have happened recently, for which I am most grateful. Firstly - I am now mentoring a private art school in Frisco, Texas, USA. Marina Shterenberg is a dedicated, talented artist who inspires her students through a wide range of mediums. She recently became interested in teaching them oriental art and reached out to Keitaro, who manages the online sales of Kobaien ink and other traditional Japanese artisans. The Wonders of Japanese Paper and Ink
Rob and I spent October travelling in Japan; from Tokyo, south to Hiroshima and back. I was fortunate enough to take this wonderful photo of Mt Fuji from the high-speed train. Friends who have visited Japan many times say they have only ever seen it shrouded in clouds - but here it is in all its glory, as though straight out of a print by Hokusai.
