Wombats are marsupials native to southern and eastern Australia. They are herbivores, generally about 1m long and can weigh up to 35kg. They live in a complex system of burrows, and have a uniquely backward facing pouch so that it does not fill with dirt when they are digging. They are also the only animal to have cube shaped droppings. The female has a single baby which leaves the pouch after about six months.
