The Scarlet Robin is endemic to southern coastal Australia, where it favours eucalyptus woodlands. It is territorial and monogamous. The female builds the nest and incubates the eggs while the male brings her food, then they both feed their offspring. The males are distinctive with their black, white and scarlet red plumage. Robins are symbolic of hope, renewal and joy.

This is an original painting by Arlo Mercia. Handmade watercolour paints on Japanese Shunshoan Shikishi gold card. These cards have been used in Japan for calligraphy and painting since the 8th Century and were purchased from the historical Ozuwashi Paper shop in Tokyo, which was established in 1653.

The dimensions are: H 13.5cm x W 12cm x D 2mm.  The gold card is stiff and unbendable. The painting may be displayed on a small easel - supplied free of charge - or framed to match your decore.
