The Striated Pardalote is a small bird that has a loud, distinctive call in spring time. It frequents open forests and urban gardens. Its nest is a tunnel built into soft soil. It migrates along the eastern edge of Australia, spending summer in Tasmania and winter in the warmer north. Pardalotes are symbolic of finding sanctuary and appreciating beauty.
